Real Food

Using locally grown fresh produce from here in Cumbria whenever possible, much of it from our own Victorian kitchen garden and farm, our menus change daily and offer a wide choice. Ours are family friendly hotels so children are most welcome, with their own menus. We also offer special menus for vegetarians and can cater for any other dietary requirements with prior notice.

Each of our three hotels in the lake district, Damson Dene Hotel near Lake Windermere, Riverside Hotel in the centre of Kendal, and Newby Bridge Hotel overlooking Lake Windermere, has a choice of restaurants where the emphasis is on locally produced food.

Homegrown produce

We have our own kitchen garden at Yewbarrow House in Grange Over Sands, which supplies as much quality fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs as we can, all grown using organic principles.

At our own farm, High Lowscales Farm we rear our own free range rare-breed pigs, Herdwick Lamb and traditional cattle.

For all the meat that we do not rear ourselves, our suppliers offer complete traceability and give a guarantee of flavour and tenderness.
