Meet Jenn

Meet Jenn is one of the Group’s most long-standing members of staff. Having joined the reception team at Riverside Hotel when she left school, Jenn has risen through the ranks and is now General Manager. Jenn loves the ‘meet and greet’ side of our business, welcoming folks from all walks of life to the hotel and making sure visitors have an enjoyable stay with us. On a rare day off, Tarn Hows near Hawkshead is one of her favourite places to visit with her partner and their two lovely cocker spaniels Toby and Ozzy.

“When I get a chance to have a day off and the sun’s out we’re spoilt for choice with places to take the dogs for a long walk but Tarn Hows holds special childhood memories for me so it really is my favourite place to go in the Lake District. Sadly I don’t get there as often as I’d like to but I make sure we visit a few days every year. It’s great to make up a picnic, grab a big rug to sit on and set off for what I know will always be a lovely day. The dogs love it, jumping in and out of the water literally all day.”

Tarn Hows is a beautiful walk and suitable for all ages and abilities. The route is pretty flat and has a good path so suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs (though a small section will require a good strong push!). Despite its popularity the area remains a tranquil place to visit and on a sunny day it is hard to find a nicer spot. For more walks and ideas for days out speak to our team or take a look at our Best Lakes Breaks website.
