Golfing in the Lake District is very popular, with it's beautiful backdrop of Cumbrian countryside, with views of the Lake District fells, dales, rivers, tarns and estuaries.

Meet Matt

Matt has worked in the Tannery Bar & Restaurant, at the Riverside Hotel for almost 4 years. His favourite things to do in the Lake District are play golf, taking in the scenery and fresh air and to keep active with friends and family! Matt also loves film and photography, loves to travel and play sports.

“As the summer gets nearer and nearer, the wether gets better and better, allowing me to get out on the local 9-hole golf course. At only £10 for 18 holes (you can go around twice!). It's the perfect time to enjoy with friends, admiring the breath-taking views out to sea, keeping fit and a bit of healthy competition! With a relaxed atmosphere, the family-run course at Beckside is great for amateurs like myself, through to the pro's! After the game we always like to stop at "The 19th Hole" (The Sun Inn), for a beer and burger! It's a friendly pub serving great food and has a lovely beer garden, perfect for those summer evenings. Then it's a 10 minute short drive back to Kendal."

Beckside Golf Course is a 9-par, par-63 parkland golf course, situated 10 minute drive from Kendal town centre. It's a challenging little course which owes much of it's appeal to it's unusual background.
